I've decided to expand my skills in the kitchen. So I'm starting with one of my favorite Thai Curries, Penaeng. Last night was my learn how to make curry paste night which went all right, I suppose, even though I don't think my food processor did as good of job as I would have liked. Now I have to wait till the weekend so that the paste has time mature. I hate waiting! I'm also not fond of the Smell given off by one shrimp sauce which is an intagral ingrediant in the Curry Paste. It's worth it though for the final product and the Paste keeps for a long time so it can be used over months in various dishes.

Oh yeah I'm back !
I really can't wait until I don' have to make that flight across the atlantic again. Some people say I'm lucky to get to travel so much, and they may be right. However I keep going to same place now and it's not worth the 4 hours of riding in a van and the 9+ hours of air travel each way. I'm back now though and I gotta say I love this country more every time I come back to it. I really need to get back to my art now and I do have some projects that I need to finish up this is a preview of one of them ( this color study of a project was never finished but I think you can see where I'm going)
I plan to do this piece in Oil if I can get the whole painting thing down. Let me know what you think!

Well as some of you all ready know I'm out to sea again. Yes it does suck in case you were wondering. Mostly it's really boring. I wake up get dressed walk about 30ft and I'm at work. This involves sitting and staring at TV snow for about 8hours. Then I walk another 25 feet to the mess hall and eat. Then I walk the combined distance to the gym and spend an hour staring at the wall from the tread mill. That's it besides sitting in my room trying not to go nuts. No really I mean that's it, nothing else happens. It's been like this for several months now. I used to think that being on mt last ship sucked ( which it did ). Everyone was all ways going nuts, and there was all ways some disaster that had to get solved right then and of course right then was when you were supposed to be getting your 4 hours of sleep for the day. This is a different kind of hell the kind where there is nothing to do, nothing has to get done, nothing is going to come up, it's the most most purely boring situation I've ever been in.

So I got to my new home and WOW!! It is so beautiful up hear that is when it's not raining. I live on an island that seems to be almost surrounded on all sides by beautiful mountain ranges. It also seems like every time I turn down a new road I find myself driving into a state park of some sort. I would definitely suggest this place to all natura-philes :) . Down on the south end of the Island it seems to be like the ultimate liberal paradise, no big commercial anythings all quaint small towns and filled arts shops and small restaurants catering to the all natural foods crowds. I've been home hunting and looking for all new furniture since I'm going to have to completely furnish a whole house from scratch It's going to be fun but oh so expensive, I think I'm going to try to go the used furniture route as much as I can. Then I think I'll frame up a bunch of my art work and turn my house into my own gallery. I really need to get to painting some big pieces, but I do that once I get into the house the one I'm looking at has a great Southern exposure from the living room with large windows Woo hooo for lighting!!!!!Now I just have to get the money out of the NAVy so that I can get started on all of this!!!!

So I went to the place where my people hold our sweat lodge dances and other various ceremonies. I had thought that there would be a sweat but unfortunately there wasn't. There was however something else going on yesterday. The head of our tribe, the elder that brought his wisdom to us and around the world Joseph Rael ( Beautiful Rainbow ) had come to speak with us all the way from New Mexico ( this being a considerable distance since I believe that he is now getting to be in his late 70's). I was very interested to get to here him since I had not gotten to hear him before. I had been fortunate enough to sweat with him once before, but this was the first time I would be able to just listen talk about his beliefs and reasons for doing some of th things he's done. It is truly difficult to realy describe what a wonderful experience it was. I really do feel so fortunate to have found my extended family, there have been several times in my life that I fear I would have been completely lost if had not been for these wonderful people and Joseph's teachings. I always meet the most wonderfully kind and inteligent people when I go there, and last night was no different. I even managed to meet someone that I all ready new don't ask me how that works ( I only know that it can because I experienced it).

Well I've been back Home for about the last week and a half. I have been going to my same old haunts that namely being Denny's, since it allows me to be in a well lit place where I can smoke and be fed a almost unending river of coffee. This is quite frankly the best environment that I can find for my art. I had begun to wonder how ever where everybody that I had once know had gone to. That was until about 2 days ago when I started finding everybody that I had been wondering about. Sometime's it's nice when things don't change to terribly much.

That's right I'm in HK for th most American holiday besides the 4th of july that there is. It hasn't been to bad I had a big steak then preceeded to go out and drink guiness until my brain hurt. Then I wandered around aimlessly on the main land side of HongKong called Kow Loon until I realized that I was on Shanghai St. and figured that it was some sort of ohmen that I needed to figure out where we were and get back to somewhere we knew. ( sorry if I sound like I'm rambeling but I'm alittle drunk right now;whick is day 2 of drunken hognkong adventures ). I woke up at noon today and me and my boy Bug preceeded to head in the most inderect route we could find to the nearest Pub for a huge Lunch made up of the heaviest pub food we could order. Simultaneously washing it down with a little hair of the dog.We then drag our asses all over Hk insearch of Electronic super tower building which eventualy found. Then I preceeded to drag the poor bastard all over the place in a aimless search to find something for my bebe so that she won't feel unloved when I get back. Then at the conclusion of that escapade we then continued on to an un known area which proved to be the best party zone that I've stumbeled apon in this city so far ( I've been here 4 times now ). So needless to say I'm 1 sheet to the wind sitting in an almost abandoned coffee shop typeing this and listing to the walls vibrate from one of the clubs next door. I'm also thinking of upgradeing HK on my list's of place to number 2 above singapore that currently holds that position. Well so long for Now. Oh yay I forget to tell yall that I got promoted last week so you know the party is on. Laters and take Care!!!!

Well this is my first Entry, and unfortunately since my life has consisted of very little for the last month except standing watch , sleeping , and walk up and down stairs it's not going to be very interesting. I have to say that the most interesting thing I do on most days is E-mail conversating with my Woman ( since IM doesn't work on these god awful slow navy PC's). I guess I did get to see a couple of guys almost get killed today. We got into some rough sea's and the Ship was taking some prety good rolls, when a weight bench and an entire rack of free Weights ( aprox. 500 pounds )flew across the room. It almost hit a couple of guy's that were trying to work out. Other than that all I did today was stand watch and scrub the walls.
